A man in Israel shot his girlfriend with a bulletproof vests, police said.
An officer at a Tel Aviv street near the Jerusalem airport told Channel 10 TV that the incident occurred around 2 p.m.
According to police, the woman was standing on the corner of Yitzhak Street and Jerusalem Road, when she was approached by the man who fired a single bullet at her.
She was treated at the scene and later transferred to the hospital for treatment.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the officer was unable to immediately provide details about the man, but that he is the man’s girlfriend.
The man is suspected of firing at her with a handgun, he added.
He is currently at large.
Police have not released the man or the woman’s names.
In November, a video surfaced online showing an Israeli soldier firing a round at a Palestinian protester, who was later killed.
The incident occurred during a demonstration against plans to demolish Palestinian homes and businesses on occupied East Jerusalem, which Israel annexed in the 1967 Middle East war.
The demonstration took place on November 18.
